About Joan

ON A MISSION

My father was a tinkerer. He spent most of his waking hours in his metal and wood working shops. When I was young, he taught me how to solder pieces of metal together. Working with him in his shop fostered my love of metal working.

Today I am a silversmith and cloisonné artist. When not in my studio, you can often find me hiking, skiing or in my kayak on one of the many lakes in Oregon.

I am inspired by my outdoor adventures and my work with talented and renown artists such as JE Halpern, Steve LaRance and Suzy Williamson.

I work with colorful semi-precious stones and silver through inlay and other stone-setting techniques.
